Germany hinted that Ukraine may face ‘painful concessions’
That may end in a referendum.
The Gaze reports on it according to European truth.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul believes that Ukraine may be forced to make ‘painful concessions’ in the fight to end Russia's war of aggression, and that this process could end in a referendum.
Wadefuul in an interview with Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, reported by European Truth with reference to ntv.
‘This will undoubtedly be an extremely difficult process for Ukraine, which may end in a referendum.’
Details: According to him, Ukrainian citizens will then have to decide whether they can accept the terms of ending the war, bearing in mind Russia's demand for significant territorial concessions.
‘The task of diplomacy is to work out compromises that can be supported by the parties to the conflict. Ultimately, this will always involve painful concessions,’ the minister stressed.
Thanks to international diplomatic efforts, the chances for a truce ‘have never been greater’ than they are now, the German minister noted. ‘An important prerequisite will be for Ukraine to receive guarantees that it will not be defenceless against new Russian aggression,’ he said.
As the Gaze reported earlier Germany ends dependence on Russian LNG with historic deal with Argentina.
