The 81st Golden Globe Awards took place in Los Angeles, California, where the top honour for Best Film of the year went to "Oppenheimer," as announced on the official website of the awards. Christopher Nolan's film also garnered multiple accolades in key categories, including "Best Drama," "Best Male Lead" (Cillian Murphy), "Best Male Supporting Role" (Robert Downey Jr.), and "Best Original Music Score" (Ludwig Göransson). Christopher Nolan was also recognized as the Best Director of the year.

Greta Gerwig's film "Barbie" received acclaim for its box office success, surpassing worldwide earnings of over 1 billion dollars.

The award for Best Comedy went to "Poor Things," while in the "Comedy Series" category, "The Bear" emerged victorious.

The Best Foreign Language Film was "The Anatomy of a Fall," and among animated films, Hayao Miyazaki's "How Do You Live?" received the highest recognition.

Lily Gladstone was honoured as the Best Actress for her role in the drama "The Killers of the Flower Moon." She became the first actress from the indigenous population of the United States to be nominated for a Golden Globe.

Billie Eilish received an award in the "Best Original Song" category for the song "What Was I Made For?" in the film "Barbie."

This year's Golden Globes also introduced two new categories: "Cinematographic and Box Office Achievements in Cinema" and "Best Stand-Up Comedy Performance on Television." Perhaps that is why the main host of the ceremony was American stand-up comedian Jo Koy.

Earlier, The Gaze reported that the Ukrainian short film "Christmas Ghost" took the third place in the AI Holiday Film Contest, selecting the top three films created using artificial intelligence (AI). Over 140 films, utilizing this technology, participated in the competition. The 2-minute and 40-second film tells the story of a Ukrainian volunteer celebrating Christmas alone and encountering a Christmas ghost. The filmmaker received a prize of one thousand dollars, free participation in an AI cinematography course, and a festive Christmas jumper.
