Russia Launches Nationwide Overnight Assault on Ukraine, Poland Scrambles Jets
Russia carried out a large-scale overnight attack across Ukraine early on December 6, striking several regions with drones and cruise missiles.
The Gaze reports this, referring to regional authorities.
The Fastiv, Vyshhorod and Bucha districts of the Kyiv region were under continuous Russian fire throughout the night. Emergency services said three civilians were injured.
In Fastiv, fires broke out following strikes on the railway station area and the motor-coach depot. In the village of Novi Petrivtsi, debris from a downed drone ignited a 5,500-square-meter warehouse and set three trucks ablaze. One residential building was destroyed and six more were damaged.
Russian drones also struck multiple locations in the Chernihiv region, damaging residential buildings and critical infrastructure in Chernihiv and surrounding districts. Several fires were extinguished by emergency crews. No casualties were reported.

The Dnipropetrovsk region faced another intense wave of attacks. Officials said an 11-year-old boy was injured in Nikopol when Russian forces used FPV drones and heavy artillery against several local communities.
Strikes on railway infrastructure, particularly the major junction in Fastiv, forced Ukrainian Railways to restrict or suspend multiple suburban routes and cancel services to Zhytomyr, Vasylkiv, Chernihiv and Slavutych.
Ukraine’s western regions, including Lviv, Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi, came under attack from Russian cruise missiles early Thursday.
Poland responded by scrambling fighter jets and placing its air-defense systems on heightened readiness, calling the measures “preventive” to safeguard its airspace amid Russia’s long-range aviation activity.
International observers and Ukrainian officials condemned the overnight assault as yet another blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on November 29 two people were killed and dozens were wounded in a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv.
