Spain to Allocate €200,000 for the Development of Ukrainian Cinema
The Minister of Culture of Spain, Ernest Urtasun Domenech, has announced a decision to allocate an additional 200 thousand euros to support Ukrainian cinema, Ukrinform reports.
Spain continues to support the development of Ukrainian culture, including cinema.
According to the minister, the country has already made a significant contribution to the European Fund for Solidarity with Ukrainian Cinema. ‘Spain has contributed 300 thousand euros to the European Fund for Solidarity with Ukrainian Cinema. And it is a great honour for me to announce today that Spain will contribute another 200 thousand euros to this fund in 2025,’ said Domenech.
Spain also provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine and promotes cultural initiatives. ‘Earlier, Spain provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine worth more than €100 million as a sign of solidarity and helped to open the Cultural Hub in Lviv,’ the Minister of Culture said.
‘The minister confirmed that Spain supports the Ukrainian people in the unjust war unleashed by Russia, and considers Ukrainian culture to be a great asset to humanity,’ the statement said.
An international conference ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ dedicated to cultural issues is currently taking place in Uzhhorod, which demonstrates active international support for Ukraine's cultural development.
