Spectacular Scenery, Сute Penguins, Seals, and Scientific Research - Ukrainian Polar Scientists to Host Online Tour of Antarctic Station
On World Science Day, 10 November, on Sunday at 16:00, the members of the 29th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition will conduct an online tour of the Akademik Vernadsky station, where you will be able to see and learn what is being studied in the most remote scientific corner of Ukraine - at the Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station, how our researchers live and work on the icy continent. At the end of the tour, you will be able to ask the scientists questions.
This was reported by the National Antarctic Science Centre.
‘The polar explorers will talk about their research and possibly show the surrounding inhabitants. At the end of the meeting, scientists will be able to ask questions,’ the statement said.
You can join the event by pre-registering via Zoom.
Registration will last until 12:00 on 10 November.
The National Antarctic Science Centre's YouTube channel will broadcast a live stream of the tour.
In the summer, the Ukrainian Antarctic research station Akademik Vernadsky hosted a photo exhibition about the full-scale Russian war in Ukraine. The author of the exhibition is Kyiv-based photographer Kostyantyn Polishchuk, who has been defending Ukraine at the front for more than two years.
