U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that Washington could consider supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles if Russia refuses to move toward ending the war.

The Gaze reports this, referring to Trump's interview with reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Israel.

The U.S. president said he was prepared to expand military aid to Ukraine at the request of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing that Kyiv urgently needs additional air defense systems.

“They really need Patriots. They’d like to have Tomahawks. That’s a step forward,” Trump said, noting that the issue had been discussed during his recent conversation with Zelenskyy.

While the president did not confirm whether any formal decision on the missile transfer had been made, he suggested the move could serve as a signal to Moscow.

“Frankly, I probably should talk to Russia about the Tomahawks. Do they want Tomahawks flying in their direction? I don’t think so. So I’ll probably talk to Russia about it,” Trump told reporters.

Trump stressed that if the war continues without resolution, the United States “might” proceed with the delivery of the missiles to Ukraine.

During the same interview, Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin would eventually agree to end the war, saying that prolonging it would have “bad consequences” for Moscow.

“The Ukrainians deserve credit — they’re holding on well, fighting very well,” Trump stated. “I think Putin would look great if he ended it. I think he will end it. If not — it will not be good for him.”

As The Gaze reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that he had held another phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump to coordinate steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, expand long-range strike capabilities, and ensure energy resilience amid continued Russian attacks
