Now Russia is planning on production of drones of Iranian design on its own territory. So far, the coice has fallen on Tatarstan. There, in the special economic zone 'Alabuga', they've already began to assemble 'Shahed' UAVs. Moreover, Russia does not spare money on that bloody cooperation. In order to purchase a license from Iran for the production of Shahed-type drones they spent about 130 billion roubles, according to the editor-in-chief of the Defense Express military portal Oleh Katkov. However, Western sanctions on both countries and isolation from the civilised world have raised a real issue of quality of the UAVs. And it doesn't seem that Russia will be able to improve it.
