EU Parliament Clashes with Hungary: Freezing Funds Over Judicial Reforms | The Gaze
The representatives of four groups in the EU Parliament called on the EU Commission not to unfreeze 13 billion euros of EU funding for the Hungarian government until they fulfill judicial reforms. In September 2022 EU Parliament declared that Hungary is no longer a functional democracy because the government under Prime Minister Victor Orban has been allegedly deliberately undermining democracy, fundamental rights, and the rule of law for over a decade.
