Her career began in 1992 as a security officer in the counterintelligence unit. In 2014, with the invasion of Russian troops, Laputina made history as part of the first joint SSU group to land at Kramatorsk airfield in eastern Ukraine. From September to December 2014, Laputina led the SSU task force, successfully apprehending members of Russian terrorist groups. Her dedication and courage were rewarded in March 2020 when she was honored with the rank of Major General, becoming the second female General in independent Ukraine's history.
