32 Suspected Russian Agents Arrested in Poland Over Sabotage Plot

Poland has detained 32 individuals suspected of collaborating with Russian intelligence to carry out sabotage operations on Polish soil, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced Tuesday, The Gaze reports, citing Radio Liberty.
The suspects include citizens of Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Colombia. According to Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), the acts were committed or planned under the guidance of Russian intelligence operatives.
One person has already been convicted, while the others remain in custody awaiting trial.
Among those arrested is a 27-year-old Colombian man accused of setting fire to two construction warehouses in May 2024. ABW reports that he received instructions — including how to make Molotov cocktails — from a person linked to Russian intelligence.
He faces 10 years to life imprisonment in Poland. In June 2025, Czech authorities sentenced the same man to eight years in prison for arson at a bus depot in Prague and attempting to ignite a shopping center.
Polish officials have not released further details about the identities of the suspects or the nature of the planned sabotage.
