Apple Unveils Latest iPhone Lineup
Apple has announced its latest iPhone lineup, which includes four models with USB-C connectivity - the 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max. The highest-end model features a titanium body and a hefty price tag of $1,199.
This information has been reported by New Atlas.
Starting with the lower end of the range, there are the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, offering Super Retina XDR displays measuring 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. They come with a "industry-first" colored glass back with a textured matte finish, along with a new contoured edge on an aluminum frame. The phones also feature a 48-megapixel primary camera (defaulting to 24 MP) with a 2x telephoto lens, providing three levels of optical zoom: 0.5x, 1x, and 2x.
When capturing photos of people, pets, or when users tap the screen to focus, the iPhone automatically captures depth information. This allows users to later use the "Photos" app to turn their images into "stunning portraits" and even adjust the point of focus on photos.
Another new feature is something called the Dynamic Island. It's a screen display that expands and adapts to let users see the next turn in Maps, control music easily, and get real-time updates from third-party apps regarding food delivery, ride-sharing, sports scores, travel plans, and more.
Additionally, a new roadside assistance feature allows users (currently in the U.S.) to connect with the American Automobile Association via satellite if they encounter issues with their vehicle when cellular and Wi-Fi networks are unavailable. There is no information on when this feature will roll out to other regions.
Other features include the A16 Bionic chip, a 6-core CPU, and a 5-core GPU, as well as a front Ceramic Shield that protects the display. The battery life is rated at 20 hours of video playback for the 15 and 26 hours for the 15 Plus.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be available in stores starting from September 15, with rear glass colors including pink, yellow, green, blue, and black, and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Prices start at $799 for the 15 and $899 for the 15 Plus.
With a robust yet lightweight titanium body, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max enhance gaming with a 48MP 5x telephoto camera (exclusive to the Pro Max version), three USB-C connection speeds, and a 3-nanometer A17 Pro chip.
There's also a new Action button that replaces the existing single-function switch, allowing users to perform actions like quickly switching between calls and silent mode, accessing the camera or flashlight, activating voice reminders, and switching between focus modes. Battery life stands at 23 hours for the 15 Pro and 29 hours for the Pro Max.
The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be available in stores from September 22, in black, white, blue, and natural titanium finishes. Prices for the 15 Pro start at $999 for the base version, while the Pro Max will cost at least $1,199.
