Czech president Pavel urged for finishing off Russia

Today, Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, urged not to give up efforts to defeat Russia in Ukraine - according to him, historical experience should be the motivation.
Pavel stated this today, speaking at a memorial event of honouring the victims of Nazi persecution at the National Cemetery Theresienstadt, Ceskenovinyreported.
"At this stage, I would like to urge that we do not abandon our joint efforts aimed at defeating Russia in Ukraine and thus refuse to violate the rules of the international order, which we are witnessing. We should be motivated by the historical experience that we are talking about today. It is right that we remember it and put it in the context of today's situation; that is the only way we can avoid repeating the mistakes of the past," the President said.
He noted that citizens of the Czech Republic and all of Europe are concerned about the difficulties of everyday life caused by the economic and social consequences of the war.
"War fatigue puts pressure on politicians and complicates efforts to manage public finances responsibly. Thus, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain unity to support Ukraine," he said.
According to Pavel, the concentration camp Theresienstadt has become a symbol of the worst that a person is capable of. He noted that it is necessary to take responsibility for crimes committed by ancestors, and learn from them.
According to him, the memorial allows you to pass on evidence to future generations, and according to Pavel, it is important because of modern threats, such as various forms of extremism, xenophobia or extreme nationalism.
Recall that on May 12, 2022, Jana Černochová, Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, publicly stated that her country is ready to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine its Soviet-made armoured vehicles if Germany transfers its Leopard 2 tanks in return. The solution was found in just 4 days.
Czech media reported that the Governments of Germany and the Czech Republic are preparing to conclude an agreement for the supply of 20 Leopard 2A4 tanks and 40 Leopard 2A7 tanks, which will replace T-72 tanks in the Czech army.
In addition, the Czech initiative "Gift for Putin" (Dárek pro Putina) raised USD 2.3 million for the purchase of the RM-70 multiple rocket launcher and 365 missiles for it.
