Czechs and Slovaks Have Raised 400,000 Euros in a Week to Purchase a Black Hawk Helicopter for Ukraine
Czechs and Slovaks have joined forces and raised 400,000 euros within a week to buy a Black Hawk helicopter for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This information is reported by the organizers of the fundraising campaign 'Dárek pro Putina.'
"Friends, for a week now, Czechs and Slovaks have been collecting funds for the Ukrainian military intelligence to acquire a Black Hawk helicopter. In this week, we have gathered over 400,000 euros," the organizers announced.
It is worth noting that the fundraising started on November 16, and its main goal is to collect 4,291,766 euros to purchase the American multi-role helicopter UH-60 Black Hawk for Ukrainians. It is one of the few similar helicopters privately owned and available for purchase.
The UH-60 Black Hawk is an American tactical multi-role helicopter developed in the mid-70s by Sikorsky Aircraft, founded by the world-famous Ukrainian aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky in the 1920s. In 1979, the first helicopters created by the Ukrainian were introduced into the arsenal of the U.S. Army.
The legendary helicopter is primarily designed for transporting personnel and various military cargo. However, the aircraft is also suitable for evacuating the wounded and transporting large-sized cargo.
Recall that earlier, volunteers from 'Dárek pro Putina' managed to collect about 90 million crowns for Ukraine. With this money, 15 Viktor UAV countermeasure systems were purchased.
"The time has come to say goodbye. 15 anti-drone systems MR-2 Viktor, for which we collected 90 million from you, are heading to the front. Let the Ukrainian military shoot accurately, take care of yourselves," the volunteers wrote before dispatching.
Such systems are capable of effectively protecting strategic and civilian objects from attacks by Russian kamikaze drones, which regularly target Ukrainian territory, including critical infrastructure.
Also, 'Dárek pro Putina' raised funds for a tank and an RM-70 rocket launcher. For the implementation of this project, volunteers managed to accumulate about 2,300,000 US dollars.
