Ukrainian Defence Ministry Spokesman Wins Poetry Contest in Austria
The spokesman for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, won a poetry competition in Vienna, organised as part of the European network for cultural cooperation EUNIC Austria.
This was reported on Facebook by the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria.
‘Five talented authors from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, France and Ukraine presented their works, each in their own style, which crossed the boundaries between text and personality, creating live performances. As is customary at a real poetry slam, the audience chose the winner, and this time their hearts were won by Ukraine!’ the statement reads.
At the poetry slam, Ukraine was represented by Dmytro Lazutkin, a poet, journalist, television producer and serviceman, winner of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and since April 2024, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Earlier, Dmytro Lazutkin received the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine in the Literature nomination for his poetry collection Bookmark.
