US Warns Apple and Google to Remove TikTok from App Stores on 19 January
The chairman of the US House of Representatives Committee on China, Republican John Mulenaara, and the committee's top Democrat, Raja Krishnamoorthy, have informed Google CEOs Alphabet and Apple that they should be prepared to remove TikTok from their US app stores on 19 January.

The congressmen also called on TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chu to sell the app.
‘Congress has acted decisively to protect the national security of the United States and to protect American TikTok users from the Chinese Communist Party. We urge TikTok to immediately implement a qualified divestiture,’ the lawmakers wrote.
Last week, a US federal appeals court upheld a law requiring Chinese company ByteDance to divest itself of TikTok in the United States, otherwise it faces a ban.
As reported by The Gaze, Romanian TikTok influencers who helped promote anti-Western presidential candidate Kelin Georgescu fled the country due to a tax investigation.
