Estonian service Bolt will deliver food using Starship Technologies robots.

Bolt, a startup that specializes in food delivery and operates a taxi service, has signed a partnership agreement with robotics company Starship Technologies. The agreement, announced on June 21, aims to deploy robots for food delivery in various countries starting this year, according to Reuters.
Currently, the Starship fleet consists of over 2,000 robots in Estonia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company has already completed over 5 million commercial deliveries with their assistance. Through this partnership, Starship Technologies will gain access to Bolt's customer base of over 100 million users in more than 45 countries and 500 cities. The pilot project for delivery will initially be launched in Tallinn. Starship's delivery robots will begin delivering food from Bolt Food in the Estonian capital, working in tandem with courier partners.
Meanwhile, Bolt expects that robot-assisted delivery will ultimately increase the profitability of their delivery service. The partnership between Bolt and Starship Technologies is based on shared goals and a vision for transforming cities and delivery services. Both companies have expressed excitement and optimism about the collaboration.
"Both Bolt and Starship have created innovative products that have revolutionized the way people move, shop, and receive goods in cities," said Jevgeni Kabanov, President of Bolt.
According to Jevgeni Kabanov, the partnership will provide millions of Bolt Food customers with reliable delivery through Starship's successful and intelligent service.
Starship Technologies was launched in 2014 by former Skype co-founders and began testing their self-driving delivery robots in London. Since then, the company's six-wheeled robots have been operating in over 50 service areas for food, grocery, and small package deliveries on the last mile, including college campuses and technological company campuses.
One of Starship Technologies' notable projects prior to the agreement with Estonian company Bolt was its work in the English city of Leeds through a partnership with the local council. During a three-month pilot project, approximately 20,000 residents of the city utilized delivery services using Starship Technologies robots.
