EU Launches Ukraine2EU Programme to Support in Ukraine’s European Integration

European Union has officially launched the Ukraine2EU programme to support Ukraine's accession to the EU. The Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.
On the occasion of the launch, a conference ‘Ukraine's Accession to the EU: Choice Made, Time to Go’ was held on 1 April, attended by representatives of Ukraine, the EU, Lithuania and Denmark.
The Ukraine2EU initiative is funded by the European Union, Denmark and Lithuania, and recently joined by Sweden. The programme aims to assist Ukrainian institutions in managing the European integration process and implementing the necessary reforms.
Ukraine2EU will run from 2025 to 2027 and will be implemented by the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency (CPVA).
According to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, under the programme, Ukraine will receive €16.7 million from the EU, Denmark, Lithuania, and Sweden to support its European integration process.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal welcomed the launch of the initiative. ‘Ukraine and Europe have always been together. And today our task is to confirm this, to go through the integration track as quickly and successfully as possible. The Ukraine2EU instrument gives us new opportunities to do so,’ he said.
EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova stressed the need for strategic coordination and support of institutions in the EU accession process. ‘The EU stands firmly by Ukraine's side on its path to membership. This process is ambitious and transformational at the same time, so it requires strategic coordination. Through the Ukraine2EU programme, we are strengthening Ukraine's institutional capacity and ensuring steady progress towards European integration,’ she said.
