France to Deliver Entire 2025 CAESAR Howitzer Output to Ukraine, Macron Announces

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that all CAESAR self-propelled howitzers manufactured in France in 2025 will be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as part of Paris’ ongoing commitment to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to TF1Info.
Macron emphasized that Ukraine’s security fundamentally relies on a strong and well-equipped military, supported by European partners, especially through advanced French-made weapons.
France plans to ramp up the production rate of CAESAR systems at Nexter’s Roanne facility to 12 units per month, a significant increase from the pre-war figure of just two systems monthly. This boost follows previous steps, with production gradually rising to 6, then 8 units per month after Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
In parallel, the French-made chassis for these artillery systems, produced by Arquus, are being manufactured at a pace of one every four days, ensuring steady delivery to match the increased assembly of CAESARs.
The CAESAR has become the flagship artillery platform across Europe, with ongoing deployments not only in Ukraine but also in other allied forces. Two new units were recently seen prepared for the Czech military, underlining the system’s growing strategic footprint.
This commitment aligns with efforts by the multinational “Artillery Coalition,” launched in Paris in January 2023 and co-led by France and the United States. The coalition now includes 23 countries coordinating artillery deliveries, munitions supply, and integration of technologies like artificial intelligence to enhance battlefield effectiveness.
As The Gaze reported earlier, France will use revenues from frozen Russian assets to fund the maintenance of CAESAR howitzers it has delivered to Ukraine.
