Lithuania has Stopped the Transit of Lukoil Oil Products to Kaliningrad
Sanctions work
The Gaze reports on it according to Dzerkalo tyzhnia.
On 21 November, Lithuanian Railways (LTG) stopped the transit of petroleum products from Russia to Kaliningrad. The reason was the introduction of sanctions against the Russian company Lukoil and its affiliated companies. This was reported by the LTG press service.
It should be noted that sanctions against the company were imposed at various times by the UN, the EU, the US and the UK.
‘From 21 November, we will not carry out any shipments in which the transport chain includes Lukoil and its affiliated companies that are subject to US and UK sanctions,’ LTG emphasised.
The company noted that since 31 October, no new applications for the transit of cargo from Lukoil or Rosneft have been approved.
‘LTG Group companies responsibly comply with Lithuanian and European legislation on the application of sanctions, ensure sanctions control and the implementation of restrictive measures in their field of activity,’ LTG emphasised.
On 22 October, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against major Russian oil companies and called on Moscow to immediately agree to a ceasefire.
