Melbourne Hosts First Ukrainian-Australian Book Festival

The first Ukrainian-Australian Book Festival was held in Melbourne, becoming an important event for literary connoisseurs who brought together authors, readers, and cultural figures to promote Ukrainian books and foster creative dialogue between the two countries.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ukrainian World Congress on Facebook.
The event took place at the Ukrainian Community Center in Melbourne and became a true celebration of literature and culture. The main theme of the festival was the power of words that shape identity and give a sense of belonging even far from home.
The festival brought together writers, poets, and talented storytellers from Ukraine, Australia, and the global Ukrainian diaspora under one roof. They shared their own stories, revealed new meanings, and demonstrated the diversity and depth of the Ukrainian language.
The Ukrainian-Australian Festival brought together many speakers and guests. Among the participants were well-known Ukrainian journalist and writer Olga Herasyuk, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress in Oceania and Asia Natalia Poshyvailo-Tauler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko, member of the Committee of the Ukrainian Organizations in Australia Christina Kmet, and many other representatives of the Ukrainian community and cultural milieu.
The World Congress of Ukrainians congratulated the organizers on the successful staging of the festival. “Such events once again prove the global community’s interest in our culture and show how its versatility is suitable for any corner of the world,” the statement reads.
