NATO Troops Begin Military Drills in Georgia
On Friday, Georgia kicked off the 12th NATO multinational military exercise called Agile Spirit 2025.

The Georgian Ministry of Defence says the training programme is pretty much the same as in previous years. Among the main objectives are improving combat readiness and strengthening regional cooperation.
The first phase of the exercises, which included a joint airborne operation by the United States and Turkey, took place in the Turkish province of Adana.
This year, the number of participating countries has decreased. Along with Georgia, the United States and Turkey, military personnel from eight countries are involved in the exercises.
The exercises in Georgia are being conducted jointly with the country's Western Defence Command and the Georgia National Guard. The programme includes command and staff training, a Georgian-American tactical convoy on the Senaki-Vaziani route, combined firing, special operations forces actions and an inspection of the Georgian Defence Forces Combat Training Centre.
The official opening ceremony of the exercises took place at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) training ground in Krtsanisi. The event was attended by representatives of the Georgian Defence Forces, military attachés, staff from the NATO office in Tbilisi, the US Embassy, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) and the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package of Measures (SNGP) group.
As The Gaze reported earlier, in September, Poland will host the Iron Defender military exercises, involving 34,000 NATO soldiers from all branches of the armed forces. These exercises are the biggest test for Polish military personnel this year, according to the General Staff of the Polish Army.
