NATO Will Continue to Provide Strong Support to Ukraine on Its Path to Alliance Membership
On the occasion of the Day of Defenders, NATO's Senior Representative to Ukraine, Patrick Turner, said that NATO will continue to provide strong support to Ukraine in its struggle and on its irreversible path to membership.
‘Today, the people of Ukraine honour the memory of all those who have given their lives for their country's freedom, and who continue to fight for its future as a sovereign and independent state,’ Turner said.
He stressed that NATO stands with Ukraine.
‘We will continue to provide strong support to Ukraine in its struggle and on its irreversible path to NATO membership,’ Turner said.
Today, on Tuesday, 1 October, on the Christian holiday of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, Ukrainians also celebrate the Day of Defenders of Ukraine and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
As a reminder, at the Washington Summit, NATO Heads of State and Government approved long-term projects of the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine. The projects are focused on post-war recovery and reconstruction, development of institutional capacities of Ukraine's security and defence sector, and transition to interoperability with NATO countries.
