Special Valentine's Day in Poland: Łódź Orientarium Zoo Offers to Name a Cockroach After Your Ex and Feed It to the Animals

This Valentine's Day in Poland, the Lodz Orientarium Zoo offers an original solution for those who are not in the mood to celebrate Valentine's Day and whose heart has recently been broken to help them close a chapter in their lives.

People who want to say goodbye to their exes in a symbolic way can do so by adopting a Madagascar cockroach and naming it after their ex and then feeding it to the zoo's animals.

‘This is a symbolic gesture that allows those who are heartbroken to take a small step towards closing this chapter in their lives,’ the ZOO Orientarium website says.

This experience not only gives a moment of pleasure, but also contributes to a noble cause - all proceeds from the event will be donated to protect endangered species of animals living in the zoo.

The Orientarium Zoo Łódź has prepared an extended special offer, where you can choose from three options.

The basic package includes adopting a cockroach and naming it (perhaps in honour of a former partner?) and an electronic certificate confirming the adoption. Price: PLN 50.

Premium package - adopting a cockroach, giving it a name and a certificate of adoption, as well as a photo of the moment when your ex... hmm... cockroach is eaten by one of the animals living in the garden. Price: PLN 150.

VIP package - adopting a cockroach, giving it a name and a certificate of adoption, as well as feeding the insect to a meerkat living in the Orientarium Zoo Łódź. Price: PLN 300.
