Trump Admits Russia May Be ‘Dragging Feet’ on Path to Peace

US President Donald Trump has suggested that Russians may be ‘dragging their feet’ on the issue of concluding a final peace agreement with Ukraine. The US president said this in an interview with Newsmax TV channel.
When asked by a reporter whether he believes the Kremlin is stalling, Trump said: ‘I don't know. I mean, I'll let you know at a certain point. But I think that Russia wants to see an end to it, but it could be they're dragging their feet.’
He noted that he himself had done this for many years in business. ‘I've done it over the years, you know; I don't want to sign a contract, I want to sort of stay in the game, but maybe I don't want to do it,’ he said.
In his opinion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also 'would like to see it end at this point’.
Trump added that both sides are losing an average of 2,500 soldiers every week.
As The Gaze reported earlier, following talks in Saudi Arabia on 23-25 March, the United States agreed with Ukraine and Russia on a truce in the Black Sea and a ban on strikes on energy infrastructure in both countries.
