U.S. Envoy Kellogg Expected to Visit Ukraine Again This Week

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg is expected to return to Kyiv later this week, in what would mark his second visit in less than a month, as Washington intensifies its diplomatic engagement.
The Gaze reports this, referring to multiple media outlets, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to Kyiv Post and Suspilne, Kellogg is expected to visit the region under his portfolio responsibilities “in the coming days.”
Sources speaking to Kyiv Post indicated that discussions about the trip were already underway as of Friday, August 1.
A separate source within the Ukrainian government confirmed to Suspilne that a visit to Kyiv is under consideration, though specific dates for Kellogg’s arrival have not yet been finalized.
Ukrainska Pravda also reported that Kellogg is likely to arrive toward the end of the workweek.
The former general’s most recent trip to Ukraine took place in mid-July, where he met with senior officials amid increasing U.S. diplomatic engagement in the region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, commenting lightheartedly during that visit, reportedly joked that Kellogg should remain in Kyiv permanently, quipping that “Russia might bomb less if he stays.”
Kellogg's potential return comes just days before another high-level U.S. diplomatic move: Trump-appointed special envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to travel to Russia between August 6–7.
The visits come ahead of an August 8 deadline set by President Donald Trump, who warned last week that the U.S. would begin imposing tariffs and other punitive measures on Russia unless tangible progress is made toward ending the war.
