Usyk Becomes Undisputed Heavyweight Champion After Victory Over Dubois

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk made history at a sold-out Wembley Stadium by defeating British challenger Daniel Dubois in a dramatic and emotional rematch, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era, The Gaze reports.
The bout headlined a packed event and marked the second meeting between the two fighters. Their first clash in 2023 ended in a ninth-round stoppage clouded by controversy after a body shot from Dubois was ruled a low blow. This time, however, the outcome was decisive and undisputed.
The fight opened with an intense exchange of jabs and combinations. Usyk landed clean left hands late in the first round, while Dubois responded with a solid straight punch in the second, only to be met by a flurry of body shots and a strong left to the head from Usyk.
The third round saw Dubois land several accurate punches before Usyk regained control with sharp combinations. Both fighters were more measured in the fourth, seeking the perfect opening.
That opening came in round five. Usyk dropped Dubois with a fast, punishing flurry of punches to the head. After the Briton rose to his feet, the Ukrainian unleashed another devastating combination, this time to the head and body, sealing the knockout victory. The referee stopped the fight after Dubois failed to respond to the count.
Usyk landed more clean punches overall (57 to Dubois’s 35) and displayed his superior boxing IQ and timing, overwhelming the larger opponent with speed, precision, and endurance.
With this win, he retains a perfect record of 24 victories and 0 defeats, holding the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBF belts.
