Zelenskyy ‘Unpleasantly Surprised’ by US Embassy’s Reaction to Russian Strike on Kryvyi Rih

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed outrage at US Ambassador Bridget Brink's reaction to the rocket attack on Kryvyi Rih on 4 April, which killed 18 people. He wrote about this on social media.
‘Unfortunately, the reaction of the American Embassy is unpleasantly surprising: such a strong country, such a strong people - and such a weak reaction. They are even afraid to say the word ‘Russian’ when talking about the missile that killed the children,’ Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he thanked all foreign diplomats who condemned the attack on Kryvyi Rih and expressed support for Ukraine. Zelenskyy stressed the importance of the international community not leaving such attacks unanswered.
In particular, he noted the reactions of the foreign ministers of the Czech Republic, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Austria.
‘Thank you for the position and support of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. We appreciate that the Embassies of Japan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Germany have spoken out in principle,’ the President added.
He agreed that the war must end, but stressed that it is necessary to call a spade a spade.
‘We should not be afraid to put pressure on the only one who continues this war and ignores all the proposals of the world to end it. We must put pressure on Russia, which chooses to kill children instead of a ceasefire. Read more:Can Ukraine Strengthen Atlanticism in Europe and North America?
Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is negotiating with the United States to provide additional air defence systems to protect against missile attacks.
‘We are counting on our agreements with the President of the United States, who promised to help with the search for additional Petriots. And we hope that the power of the world will overcome this evil - this war, this Russian aggression.’
As The Gaze reported, on Friday evening, Russian forces fired a missile at the town of Kryvyi Rih in eastern Ukraine. As a result of the attack, 18 people were killed, including 9 children, and more than 60 others were injured, including 12 children.
On the same day, Kryvyi Rih was hit by Russian drones. The attack killed one person and injured seven others.
US Ambassador Bridget Brink commented on the Russian attack without mentioning Russia. ‘It's appalling that a ballistic missile struck near a playground and a restaurant in Kryvyi Rih this evening. More than 50 wounded and 16 dead, including 6 children. This is why this war must end,’ she wrote on social media platform X.
