North Korean Forces Could Join Russia in Ukraine

North Korean artillery systems have been spotted in Crimea, leading to speculation that Russia may have transferred some North Korean troops to the temporarily occupied peninsula to support operations in Ukraine, according to German media outlet ZDF.
On March 26, a video surfaced showing North Korean heavy artillery guns of the type ‘Koksan’ being transported by rail to the northern part of Crimea.
These 170mm heavy guns played a significant role in attacks on Ukrainian troops at the Kursk outpost due to their large radius of destruction. According to reports, Ukraine has destroyed five Koksan guns using drones, but Pyongyang has reportedly handed over at least 200 units to Moscow.
So far, North Korean troops have only been involved in hostilities in the Kursk region. However, the sudden appearance of Koksan howitzers in Crimea suggests that Russia may be preparing to deploy North Korean forces directly to Ukraine.
If North Korean forces engage in combat, Pyongyang would clearly be considered an aggressor against Ukraine. At that point, it would be impossible to claim that North Korea is merely assisting Russia in restoring its territorial integrity by expelling Ukrainians from the Kursk region.
As The Gaze previously reported, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is planning new offensives in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.
