Zelenskyy Discusses Air Defense Cooperation with Patriot Maker Raytheon

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with executives from U.S. defense company Raytheon, the manufacturer of Patriot air defense systems, to discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine’s protection against ongoing Russian attacks.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said he briefed the company’s leadership on the battlefield situation and Russia’s intensified strikes on civilians and infrastructure.
“We are working at all levels to ensure solutions that can enhance the protection of life in Ukraine. I thank Raytheon for its continued readiness to support our country,” he stated.
The meeting focused on Raytheon’s production capabilities, potential joint projects to expand Ukraine’s air defense network, and the prospects for U.S.–Ukrainian co-production of advanced defense systems.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the Patriot systems already supplied, emphasizing that they have saved “many Ukrainian lives.”
The president noted that Russia, having failed to achieve its objectives on the battlefield, has stepped up missile and drone strikes against civilian targets, launching more than 500 drones and dozens of missiles per day against Ukrainian infrastructure, including the energy grid.
Raytheon representatives expressed their condolences to Ukrainians affected by Russian strikes and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to further cooperation.
The meeting took place as part of Zelenskyy’s visit to the United States, during which he is also expected to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington today to discuss the expansion of Ukraine’s defense capabilities and ongoing security cooperation.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on October 14, Zelenskyy called on Ukraine’s Western partners to urgently strengthen the country’s air defense systems after Russia targeted the energy grid.
