Activists Disrupt Book Launch of Russian Propagandist in Paris

French pro-Ukrainian activists disrupted the presentation of a book by former RT France TV channel head Ksenia Fedorova at the international book fair in Europe - the Paris Festival du Livre.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Ukrinform.
A video of the protest, organised by the French Committee of the European Network of Solidarity with Ukraine, was posted on his Facebook page by the deputy head of the Union of Ukrainians in France, Volodymyr Kogutyak.
Several dozen activists with Ukrainian flags chanted ‘Solidarity with Ukraine’ and besieged the stand of the Fayard publishing house, where the presentation was to take place.
They also set off an air raid alarm in the hall and laid out soft toys splashed with red paint.
Earlier, the protesters published a letter explaining that the Russian author Fedorova, who pretends to be a victim of European censorship in the book, is actually attacking France and Europe, supporting the war and spreading false information about the war in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Embassy in France also posted the video on its page, thanking conscious citizens and activists.
The website of the Fayard publishing house states that the author of the book ‘Forbidden. Freedom of Expression Under Certain Conditions’, Russian journalist Ksenia Fedorova founded the RT France channel, of which she was president from 2017 to 2023. The description says that the book ‘reveals the silenced truth and describes the manoeuvres that led to the eradication of dissident voices in the news’.
The ‘dissident voice’ is the broadcasting of the Russian channel, which has been officially recognised as propaganda and banned throughout Europe.
This year's Paris Book Festival is held under the patronage of President Emmanuel Macron. From 11 to 13 April, 450 publishing houses will present their achievements in the Grand Palais.
