Barbra Streisand presented an embroidered shirt from Ukraine
American actress and singer Barbra Streisand was presented with an embroidered shirt from United24.
She told about this on her Facebook page.
"On this embroidered shirt you can see the patterns of the Ternopil region, where my paternal grandparents came from," the artist said.
She also noted that you can get the same shirt if you make a donation to rebuild a school in Buzova village in the Kyiv region.
Barbra Streisand is an American singer, composer, lyricist, producer, actress, director, and film producer. She is one of the most popular American actresses and singers of Jewish descent. She is the winner of two Oscars, as well as Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe awards.
In 2022, the star became an ambassador for the global platform UNITED 24 and has already helped raise $240,000 for medical care.
Earlier, The Gaze reported that on the occasion to the World Embroidery Day, UNITED24 created exclusive embroidered shirts for the platform's ambassadors from around the world as part of its support project for Ukraine. Anyone can win one of these shirts, like those worn by U24 ambassadors, by making a small donation.
Each embroidered shirt for the U24 ambassadors was based on patterns from different regions of Ukraine, complemented by elements associated with each ambassador.
For example, the embroidered shirt of Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movie series, shows geometric patterns with Jedi lightsabers as a reference to the Star Wars franchise.
In his speech, Mark Hamill calls on everyone to join in helping Ukraine fight evil, to stand on the side of light and to contribute to 10 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones. Its reliable radio system is able to withstand electronic warfare. The drone transmits video images in real time, which allows you to receive information without endangering the operator.
United24 is a global initiative to support Ukraine, essentially a fundraising platform launched on May 5, 2022 by the Ukrainian authorities during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
On May 18, 2023, together with ETNODIM and the Ivan Honchar Museum, UNITED 24 ambassadors started raising funds to rebuild the lyceum in Buzova village, which was destroyed by the Russians in 2022. The goal is to generate $200,000.
