England Prepares for Euro 2024 Final Against Spain: Full Squad Training, Support from Prince of Wales and Pubs to Stay Open
Today, the full England squad took part in training. This is very important as Kieran Trippier left at half-time against the Netherlands with an injury and captain Harry Kane felt uncomfortable after the penalty he scored. Luke Shaw was also doubtful throughout the tournament. He has not played since February due to injury, although he came off the bench in the last two games.
The Prince of Wales shared a message of support for the England team.
"We are so proud of you all! Just one last push to finish the job! Go out there and show the world what you are made of. We believe," he wrote.
Also on Sunday night, pubs and bars will be allowed to stay open until 1am. The licensing hours for pubs can be reduced to mark events of "exceptional national importance", meaning they can stay open for two more hours tomorrow night across England and Wales. The government has confirmed the decision to allow English fans to watch the football and enjoy the final in pubs showing the match.
The Spanish team also took to the pitch today and, as expected, England's two birthday boys will have to be particularly wary. Lamin Yamal, who just turned 17 today, played on the right wing for Spain and scored a stunning long-range strike against France in the semi-finals. On the other flank is 22-year-old Nico Williams, who celebrated his birthday yesterday and was in electric form. They both took part in a training session in Donaueschingen this morning.
The Euro 2024 final match between England and Spain will kick off in Berlin at 20:00 on Sunday.
