EU Approves €3 Billion in Aid for Ukraine Under Ukraine Facility Program

The Council of the European Union has approved a €3 billion ($3.34 billion) funding package for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program.
The Gaze reports this, referring to an announcement made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
She thanked Denmark, which currently holds the EU Presidency, for its clear support for Ukraine.
“This is a strong signal of trust in our reform course and ability to ensure stability in the most difficult times. We are grateful to the Danish presidency for its clear support. Each such decision brings us closer to a strong Ukraine in a united Europe,” Svyrydenko stated.
The Ukraine Facility, with a total budget of around $54.7 billion for 2024–2027, is designed to bolster Ukraine’s state budget, attract investment, and provide technical assistance for reforms.
The plan is organized into three main reform pillars – basic governance reforms, economic modernization, and targeted sectoral changes, alongside cross-cutting priorities such as the green transition, digital transformation, and European integration.
Prepared by Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers in cooperation with the EU and through consultations with business, civil society, lawmakers, and regional authorities, the program aims to lay the groundwork for post-war recovery, sustainable growth, and eventual EU membership.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on August 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also decided to amend the ‘Plan for Ukraine’ – a plan of reforms necessary to receive EU funds under the Ukraine Facility programme.
