European Leaders, Zelenskyy to Hold Preparatory Meeting Before Trump Talks

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other European leaders present in Washington on Monday, 18 August, will hold a joint preparatory meeting ahead of talks with US President Donald Trump.

‘President von der Leyen will take part in a preparatory meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders in Washington,’ the European Commission told the publication.
The source did not specify what time the preparatory meeting would begin or where it would take place.
Another EU official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that European leaders are expected to arrive at the White House at 12:00 local time.
The meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy in the Oval Office is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
At around 2:15 p.m., European leaders will join Trump and Zelenskyy.
After the welcoming ceremony and a joint photo, expanded talks will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington to meet with Trump after the latter held a summit with Putin.
The meeting in Washington will also be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived in Washington for scheduled meetings with the US President and European leaders.
