Explosions and Fires Reported at Strategic Russian Energy Sites After Ukrainian UAV Attacks
Ukrainian drones demonstrated their accuracy and effectiveness last night, hitting strategic energy facilities in Russia and occupied Crimea and dealing a serious blow to the enemy's logistical and military capabilities.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to a statement made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Telegram.
The General Staff of the AFU confirmed the destruction of several oil and gas refineries on the territory of the Russian Federation.
In Russia, drones struck the Mariinsky and Novospassky oil refineries, as well as the Budyonovsky gas processing plant. Explosions and fires were reported on the territory of the enterprises.
The Novospassky NPP in the Ulyanovsk region processes 600,000 tons of oil per year (0.2% of total Russian processing) and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil, supplying domestic consumption and export of petroleum products.
The Mariysk Oil Refinery in the Republic of Mari El has a capacity of 1.3 million tons per year and meets the needs of the Volga Federal District.
The Budyonnovsk gas processing plant in the Stavropol region processes 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year, supplying gas to enterprises in the region and serving as a raw material base for the petrochemical industry.
At the same time, Ukrainian drones attacked occupied Crimea, where fires were reported at oil depots in Gvardeyskoye and near Simferopol, in the area of the village of Gresivskoye.
A Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft missile system worth about $20 million and two Russian radar stations were also destroyed, significantly weakening the enemy's air defense in the Crimean direction.
The operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), which continues its systematic work to destroy air defense systems and facilities that supply fuel to the occupiers.
“Each such air defense system that is destroyed or put out of action significantly weakens the Russian Federation's defenses in the Crimean direction,” the SSU source emphasized.
As The Gaze informed earlier, Ukraine has announced for the first time that it used British Storm Shadow cruise missiles to strike a Russian powder factory.
