Germany Delivers New Package of Military Aid to Ukraine: Patriot Missiles, Drones, Tanks, and Ammunition for Leopard
On Thursday, March 28, the German government announced a new significant package of military aid for Ukraine, as reported by Ukrinform. The package includes armored vehicles, ammunition, drones, special-purpose vehicles, and more.
In particular, Ukraine has already received ammunition for the main battle tanks Leopard 2 A6, 18,000 artillery shells of 155 mm calibre (previously 50,000 were delivered), 24,000 rounds of 40 mm calibre ammunition (previously 240,000), over 2,000 anti-tank weapons RGW 90 Matador (bringing the total to 10,000), 70 GMW grenade launchers (previously 30 were provided).
Additionally, Ukraine has received 5 Carrier Warthog tracked all-terrain vehicles (repair-evacuation machines), 9 Carrier Warthog tracked all-terrain vehicles (main machine); 6 WISENT 1 mine-clearing tanks with spare parts (32 were transferred in total), 2 BIBER bridging tanks with spare parts (previously 15), 1 armoured evacuation vehicle Bergepanzer 2 with spare parts (previously 15), 1 DACHS engineering tank (7 units were transferred in total), 9 mine-clearing ploughs (previously 34), 3 vehicles for border service (border guards already have 263 of them), and 6 Zetros trucks (previously 24 were delivered).
Germany has also provided 14 Vector reconnaissance drones with spare parts (a total of 196 units), 30 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones (in addition to the 155 previously delivered), 5 drone protection and interference sensors (previously 79 were delivered), 180 RF 360 Fieldkits drone detection systems, Satcom video surveillance system (previously 2 were delivered), 330 thermal imaging devices, and more.
In addition, 3,000 camouflage nets, 2,000 ponchos, and 2 emergency generators were delivered.
As reported, Germany is currently the largest European donor of military aid for Ukraine.
