Germany to Deliver Two More Patriot Systems to Ukraine by Year’s End

Germany will transfer two more Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of 2025 with the support of Norway.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the additional transfer of air defense systems during the Warsaw Security Forum.
According to him, the additional Patriot systems will be an important contribution to strengthening Ukraine's air defense against new massive attacks by Russia, which included hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles. Germany has already provided Ukraine with three such systems, and the transfer of two more is confirmation of its unwavering support for Kyiv.
The Minister emphasized that Berlin allocates about €9 billion annually to aid Ukraine and called for closer cooperation between the defense industries of Europe and Ukraine.
"In order to better counter future challenges for both Ukraine and Europe as a whole, the defense industries of Europe and Ukraine must cooperate much more closely and effectively. We must all provide sustained support to Ukraine – more decisively and more strongly than in previous months," he said.
In particular, Pistorius stressed the need to create more flexible regulatory conditions in the EU for increasing production capacity, which would allow Ukraine to be supplied with weapons and equipment more quickly.
“This is the only way to quickly increase production capacity and, consequently, supplies to Ukraine,” he noted.
Pistorius also stated that Ukraine's struggle is not only a defense of its independence, but also part of the pan-European struggle for freedom and security.
“And it is also a story of the struggle for a rules-based international order, for freedom and security in Europe — the struggle for our freedom and security,” the Defense Minister concluded.
As The Gaze informed earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking online at the Warsaw Security Forum, urged Europe and its allies to stand united against Russia’s attempts to redraw Ukraine’s borders and destabilize the region.
