Sweden Pledges $116 Million Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine Ahead of Winter

Sweden is allocating a new large-scale humanitarian aid package worth over $116 million to Ukraine to help it prepare for winter.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine on the social media platform X.
On Monday, September 29, 2025, Sweden announced a new humanitarian aid package for Ukraine worth 1.1 billion Swedish kronor (over $116 million).
“Time to prepare for winter — another 1.1 billion 🇸🇪 kronor from Sweden in a new humanitarian package,” the message says.
The humanitarian aid will support Ukraine's most urgent needs, including energy, reconstruction, demining, and other important areas.
“We must strengthen Ukraine's resilience in every way possible,” said Benjamin Dusa, Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.
Specifically, 450 million kroner will go to the energy sector support fund, 385 million to reconstruction through the World Bank fund, and 100 million to demining and clearing debris caused by the war.
In addition, the Swedish government is supporting independent media by allocating 30 million kroner, which has become particularly important following the reduction in US aid.
Sweden previously announced a 20th military aid package to Ukraine worth about $982.5 million (9.2 billion Swedish kronor) and plans to allocate another $7.47 billion (70 billion kronor) to support Ukraine over the next two years.
The package includes Archer artillery with ammunition, drones, radar systems, supply vessels, base equipment, and air defense systems, as well as investments in civil defense and services from Swedish defense agencies.
Swedish Defense Minister Pal Johnson emphasized that the aid is intended to strengthen support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia, as well as a willingness to provide additional assistance to Poland if necessary.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Sweden declared its readiness to contribute to international security guarantees for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of air and maritime defense, once certain conditions are met.
