The Central Statistical Office of Poland has published updated data on average salaries in companies, revealing that it is most advantageous to work not in the capital city- two cities, Krakow and Gdansk, have surpassed Warsaw in terms of average wages.

This information is reported by Onet.pl.

In Krakow, the salary is the highest at 10,050 zlotys per month (2,330 euros). This is the first time that the average monthly wage in Poland has exceeded 10,000 zlotys since the beginning of statistical research. The indicator is 13% higher than it was in March 2022.

In addition, analysts have created a tool for consumers to monitor and compare prices in major supermarkets based on their geographical location in Poland. According to the results, Krakow is also among the leaders.

To generate a list of supermarkets, you need to select a locality, and you will be redirected to the lists of local stores with a list of 50 main products.

Among them, for example, are bread, rolls, tea, beer, ground coffee, chocolate, jam, oil, butter, margarine, cheese, sour cream, eggs, milk, yogurt, ketchup, mustard, juice, water, beverages, flour, sugar, salt, pasta, sausages, chicken carcass, meat (pork), ham, sausage, bananas, apples, lemons, oranges, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, surface disinfectant, laundry detergent, paper towels.

To optimize the final cost of the shopping basket, the authors of the study decided to recalculate the weight of products on the shelves to 1 kilogram and also created a list of substitute products in case the items mentioned in the main list are not available in the store. Therefore, additional comments marked with an asterisk or other symbol are displayed alongside the selected prices.

Thanks to this tool, shoppers can check current and archived prices, create their own shopping lists, sort products by categories or by the location of the store.

As was early reported by Gaze, Monaco, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands top the list of the most expensive countries to live in. You will need to spend an average of $3,000 per month on food, housing, transportation, medical services, and education.

The U.K.-controlled island territory Bermuda ranks as the most expensive place to live in two of the three global cost of living surveys. Bermuda's capital city of Hamilton is deemed to be one of the most expensive cities in the world, where a 900-square-foot apartment can cost US$4,058 per month.
