Massive Russian Drone Attack Sets Odesa’s Energy and Port Facilities Ablaze
Russia carried out a large-scale overnight drone strike on Ukraine’s Odesa region, igniting fires at key energy and port infrastructure sites.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The attack triggered multiple fires across affected facilities, and at least one person was injured.
Emergency crews and local fire brigades were deployed to contain the blazes and mitigate the damage.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said explosions were recorded in several cities during the assault.
“Despite the effective work of air defense forces, the region suffered consequences for its energy and port infrastructure. Several civilian vessels were damaged during the attack. All fires were promptly extinguished by rescuers,” Kiper wrote on Facebook. Energy facilities reported significant destruction to electrical infrastructure.
As of Monday morning, approximately 32,500 households remained without electricity, while around 4,000 customers had already been reconnected through backup networks.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on November 13, Russian forces carried out an overnight strike on the southern Ukrainian city of Artsyz, the Odesa region, hitting multiple civilian and infrastructure sites.
Then, on November 16, Russia launched another attack, during which energy facilities in the southern Odesa region were targeted, including a solar power plant that sustained damage.
The region remains one of the primary targets of Russia’s ongoing campaign against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, particularly the ports supporting Black Sea export routes.
