Ukraine’s Navy Strengthened with New Combat Boat 90 Vessels from Sweden and Norway
Ukraine’s Navy has received a new batch of Combat Boat 90 vessels supplied by Sweden and Norway.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a statement made by Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
Neizhpapa announced the delivery on social media, noting that the new boats complete a full division based on this advanced class of vessels. “These boats are already in service with our fleet, and now their number has increased, forming a full division,” he stated.
The CB90, one of the most widely used and trusted combat boats among NATO member states, is renowned for its speed, maneuverability, and resilience.
Designed for multipurpose operations, the vessels can carry out coastal defense, amphibious landings, patrols, and the protection of civilian shipping routes.
According to Neizhpapa, the boats are fully equipped to meet the demands of modern naval warfare, while Ukrainian crews have undergone extensive training to master their operation.
“I personally tested the Combat Boat 90 in action. These vessels will become a powerful instrument in the hands of our defenders,” he added.
The vice admiral emphasized that the delivery marks another success of the Ukrainian Maritime Capabilities Coalition, a multinational initiative aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s naval power through joint efforts with allied nations.
“The delivery of this equipment is another result of joint work within the framework of the Coalition for Ukraine’s Maritime Capabilities, created to strengthen the potential of the Naval Forces. I am grateful to our partners for their decisive support, trust, and shared vision of the future. We keep working,” Neizhpapa said.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on October 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a new law authorizing the deployment of Ukrainian Armed Forces units abroad, enabling the country to send naval personnel to Turkey and the United Kingdom for training and operational purposes.
