Odesa Region Faces Renewed Russian Drone Assault, Critical Infrastructure Damaged
Russian forces carried out an overnight strike on the southern Ukrainian city of Artsyz, the Odesa region, hitting multiple civilian and infrastructure sites.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a statement made by the Odesa regional authorities.
Russian forces used strike drones to target the city in the early hours of November 13. The attack damaged a critical infrastructure facility, an administrative building, and several repair workshops.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the strike was intended to disrupt essential services in the region, which has been subjected to sustained Russian pressure in recent months.
Authorities confirmed that no civilians were injured, despite the scale of the damage. Emergency workers, police investigators, and regional prosecutors are currently documenting the aftermath and assessing the extent of the destruction.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which covers war crimes and violations of the laws and customs of war. Prosecutors emphasized that targeting civilian and energy infrastructure constitutes a clear breach of international humanitarian law.
The Odesa region remains one of the most frequently targeted areas in southern Ukraine due to its strategic importance, proximity to occupied territory, and role in protecting maritime corridors in the Black Sea.
Russian forces have repeatedly attacked energy facilities, logistics hubs, and residential districts in attempts to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defenses and disrupt everyday life.
The latest assault follows a separate Russian attack on November 12, when a multi-storey residential building in Odesa city was damaged during nighttime drone strikes.
As The Gaze previously reported, on November 8, Russia carried out a wave of overnight drone and missile strikes across Ukraine, targeting major cities and energy infrastructure.
