According to Polish intelligence and prosecutors, Russia may have been preparing sabotage operations in Poland, Lithuania, and Germany using drones and cans of explosives disguised as corn.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to RMF24, citing Gazeta Wyborcza.

“One version suggests that Russian military intelligence GRU was preparing terrorist acts using drones and cans with powerful explosives instead of corn,” say informants associated with the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the National Prosecutor's Office.

Polish special services and the prosecutor's office are currently investigating the case. Such “canned goods” have already been found in a cemetery in Lithuania.

Poland's Internal Security Agency has detained Vladislav G., a suspected Russian intelligence courier who was transporting explosives, drone parts, and SIM cards between several countries. He faces life imprisonment.

At the same time, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) warns that Russian and Belarusian special services may carry out attacks against critical infrastructure in Poland and other NATO countries, while blaming Ukraine for them.

The Kremlin is already laying the informational groundwork for this. Russian Foreign Intelligence has claimed that Ukraine is allegedly preparing “provocations under a foreign flag” in Poland. According to ISW experts, these statements were made in order to avoid responsibility for its own sabotage later on.

Analysts emphasize that such statements are part of Moscow's disinformation campaign aimed at weakening support for Ukraine among its allies and raising doubts about Russia's provocations against NATO. The Kremlin has made similar accusations before, for example, in the case of drones violating the airspace of Poland and Romania, although both countries directly linked the incidents to Russia's actions.

As The Gaze reported earlier, Poland confirmed on September 10 that it had shot down Russian drones, which crossed its border during Moscow’s overnight assault on Ukraine. It is the first such incident of direct defensive action against aerial targets inside Polish territory.
