Ukraine Hits Major Defense Plant in Russia’s Bryansk Region

A major defense enterprise in Russia’s Bryansk region was hit overnight in what Ukrainian officials described as a strike on a key facility of Moscow’s military-industrial complex.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a statement made by Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, and General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Kovalenko, the target was the Elektrodetal plant in the town of Karachev.
“In Russia’s Bryansk region, the Karachev “Elektrodetal” plant was struck. In fact, “Elektrodetal” is part of Russia’s military-industrial complex, without which the assembly and repair of modern Russian weapons are disrupted,” he wrote on social media.
The facility specializes in producing electrical connectors and related components used in missile guidance systems, aircraft, spacecraft, tanks, armored personnel carriers, communications equipment, and control devices.
Ukrainian officials said the plant manufactures tens of thousands of types of connectors that form the closed circuits of electronic systems in combat hardware.
Later, Ukraine’s Armed Forces confirmed that missile troops and artillery units, operating in coordination with other branches of the Defense Forces, carried out the strike on September 29.
Four missiles were launched at the facility, which lies more than 240 kilometers from Ukrainian-held territory. Explosions and a fire were recorded on site, the military said, adding that results of the strike are still being assessed.
“The Defense Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and to force the Russian Federation to end its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff’s statement reads.
The overnight activity prompted air-raid alerts across a wider swath of Russia, including in Lipetsk, Ryazan, and Samara regions.
Separately, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed last week that its forces had struck the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
As The Gaze informed earlier, on September 18, Ukrainian drones also struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refinery in Bashkortostan, causing a major fire and marking another deep SSU-confirmed attack aimed at undermining Russia’s war capacity.
