Ukrainian Troops Train Danish Forces to Counter Drone Threats

Joint military exercises aimed at strengthening Europe’s defenses against aerial threats have begun in Denmark, with Ukrainian troops sharing frontline experience in countering drones.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The drills, dubbed “Wings of Defense,” bring together Ukrainian and Danish forces to practice detection, interception, and response to hostile unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the initiative comes amid a surge of unidentified drones spotted over Danish military sites and airports in recent weeks.
“Ukrainian troops arrived in Denmark to support their partners after the appearance of unidentified drones over the country,” the General Staff said in a statement.
Over the course of a week, participants will exchange combat experience, enhance preparedness, and refine joint air-defense tactics.
The exercise follows a series of drone intrusions reported in Denmark, Poland, and Romania, along with Russian fighter jets violating Estonian airspace.
Danish authorities confirmed sightings of unidentified drones over several defense facilities on September 27 and previously over multiple airports, including Aalborg and Esbjerg.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has suggested Russian oil tankers could be used to deploy or control drones over European cities, though Denmark’s intelligence services have not confirmed this.
Officials in Kyiv stressed that such training not only improves interoperability between the two militaries but also strengthens collective resilience in Europe’s pursuit of peace and security.
As The Gaze reported earlier, despite Hungary's resistance to Ukraine's accession to the EU, Denmark is developing measures to support reforms and further progress in the negotiation process.
