Naftogaz and Norwegian Giant Equinor Launch Strategic Partnership

The Naftogaz Group and Norwegian company Equinor have launched a new phase of cooperation aimed at strengthening the development of Ukraine's energy sector and introducing modern technologies in oil and gas production.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, on Facebook.
Serhiy Koretsky announced the signing of a memorandum with Equinor, a global oil and gas major with advanced experience in energy resource exploration and production. The document provides for the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and expertise, which will contribute to the development and modernization of the Naftogaz Group.
“Together with Equinor, we plan to launch training programs for managers, technical staff, and ESG and decarbonization specialists,” Koretsky said.
He added that a joint working group will be created in the near future to identify priority projects and areas of cooperation.
“We appreciate Equinor's support and are confident that our further cooperation will be mutually beneficial and successful,” the head of Naftogaz emphasized.
The company notes that it is open to partnerships that help Ukraine overcome the challenges of war and build a sustainable, modern energy sector.
Koretsky also thanked the Government of Ukraine, the Supervisory Board, and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Norway for their assistance in implementing the agreements, emphasizing that the process will be gradual, “step by step.”
The Gaze previously informed that Norway has announced an additional 1 billion Norwegian kroner in funding to help Ukraine import natural gas ahead of the 2025–2026 heating season.
