NASA to Hold Talks with Romania and Bulgaria on Space Partnership and Cooperation
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will begin a trip to Romania and Bulgaria on Thursday, 17 October, to deepen international cooperation and promote the peaceful uses of space. Both countries are signatories to the Artemis Agreements, a set of common sense principles that commit to the peaceful exploration of space.
Nelson will meet with key government and space officials in each country. In particular, with Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister of Romania, and Rumen Radeva, President of Bulgaria.
In Romania, Nelson will also meet with the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitisation, Bogdan-Gruiu Ivan, and the Director General of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Daniel Crunzeanu. The NASA administrator will also visit Romanian scientific and technical institutions to learn about the country's scientific institutions.
In Bulgaria, Nelson will meet with the Minister of Innovation and Development, Dr Rosen Karadimov, and visit the country's only company that manufactures satellites for organisations around the world.
During his visits to both countries, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will discuss the importance of international partnerships and cooperation in space, including the transatlantic relationship with NASA. Nelson will also meet with students to highlight the benefits of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and their role as members of the Artemis Generation.
