Natural Landscape Photography Award Selects Best Landscape Pictures of the Year
The Natural Landscape Photography Award has selected the best landscape photos for 2024.
This is reported on the Award website.
This year, more than 12,000 works from 59 countries were submitted to the competition with 17 nominations.
The winner in the main category of Photographer of the Year is Canadian nature photographer Andrew Mielzynski, who will receive a $5,000 prize. He won the award for his photographs of trees, colourful stones underwater, deserts and forests.
‘I am stunned, amazed, excited and honoured to win the Photographer of the Year award,’ said Mielzynski.
Below are the winners of some of the nominations:
John Hardiman from Australia won the Photo of the Year award for his photographs of the mystical and misty Tallarook Forest.
‘I visited a local forest where the air was thick with fog covering everything. I watched the water dripping from the eucalyptus leaves above my head, creating ‘musical’ ripples that danced across the surface of the water,’ recalled Hardiman.
The winner in the Grand Scenery category was photographer Peter Coskun from the United States, who took a truly grand photo in the Grand Canyon National Park in 2023.
Brent Clark from the United States won the Sensual Landscapes nomination. ‘The wild and remote canyons of the American Southwest offer surprises around every corner,’ the artist said about his work.
The winner in the category ‘Mountains’ is the photographer Jurre Jan de Wit from Norway.
The Water Worlds category was won by Philip Jakesch from Austria and his photo of the Lofoten Islands, famous for their sudden change in weather conditions.
‘One moment it's beautiful and calm, and then suddenly a storm is coming, like in this picture,’ comments Philipp.
