The Dutch government has approved the allocation of €122 million to Ukraine for ammunition, weapons and cybersecurity.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the Dutch government.

In particular, 87 million euros are allocated for the purchase of artillery shells for Ukraine.

Another 25 million euros will be transferred to the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) for the purchase of weapons.

In addition, the Dutch government will allocate €10 million to improve Ukraine's cyber defence.

The funds for cyber defence will be used, among other things, to create and expand the relevant online infrastructure in Ukraine, which has already faced large-scale cyberattacks.

This was announced today in the House of Representatives by the Minister of Defence of the Netherlands, Keesa Ollongren.

"It is very important to support Ukraine not only in the short term but also in the long term," she said. - "Now it is important to show that we are helping Ukraine. They are fighting for their country and for the values we share: self-determination, freedom, equality, human rights."

The allocation of these funds was the result of consultations with the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG), which includes 50 partner countries. They help our country purchase equipment and resources to defend itself against Russia.

Earlier, the Netherlands contributed €100 million to the IFU, an initiative of the United Kingdom. The fund was used to purchase air defence systems, ammunition and spare parts. The equipment is purchased directly from the industry, so it gets to Ukraine faster and the budget is used optimally.

The Netherlands has also allocated €130 million for artillery ammunition for the German-led fund to purchase 155mm shells, which are much needed in Ukraine. In addition, another €87 million has been promised.

Еhe Dutch government is allocating €102 million for the first 4 months of 2024 to help Ukraine survive the winter and prepare for spring. This amount is part of the more than €2 billion that the Dutch government has reserved to support Ukraine this year.

As The Gaze previously reported, the Netherlands began using its F-35 fighter jets on 25 January as part of NATO's Benelux Air Policing programme.
