Norwegian Foreign Minister: All Restrictions on Ukraine's Use of Weapons Should Be Lifted
Norway supports the lifting of all restrictions on Ukraine's use of weapons provided by international partners.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said this on the sidelines of the Peace Formula Conference in Montreal, Ukrinform reports.
‘Friends and supporters of Ukraine should not tell it to defend itself with its hands tied behind its back. We should allow Ukraine to choose how to use the weapons provided to achieve maximum effect,’ he said.
According to the Norwegian Foreign Minister, international law should be the only limitation for Ukraine in this matter.
‘However, international law in no way prohibits Ukraine from fighting back against the aggressor. Russia is the aggressor, it has chosen war and must understand that this war can spread to its territory,’ the Norwegian Foreign Minister said.
As reported, the Norwegian government will double its assistance to Ukraine and allocate 1.4 billion kroner so that Romania can send Ukraine Patriot air defence systems.
